1 John 4:18 New King James Version
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Circumstances all around us have the potential to cause fear to attack our hearts and mind. The covid 19 plague that is reported to be spreading throughout the world with no end in sight and worse plagues being predicted as well has caused the whole world to go into a “fear pandemic” meltdown.
The fear of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis as well as fierce weather is a daily topic. The fear of evil, fear of man, fear of sickness, being attacked, being alone, not having enough to get by, fear of losing everything, fear of dying and the list goes on and on. It seems that no matter where we turn we are hit with something that causes fear to arise and paralyze us mentally.
So what do we do? First thing is that we DO NOT receive it. This does not deny that it is there or there is justification to fear BUT we just do not receive it.
Fear is not from God. God has not given us a spirit of fear. Fear, worrying, fretting, anxiety all come from the side of the enemy. It is the first defense the enemy has against you and his first offensive attack. If he can get you to fear he can paralyze you where you will not be able to stand up to him.  We are to look at what is causing fear and discern if it is true or not. Knowing the truth will set you free. [John 8:32] Not everything you hear is true and much is a half-truth. We have seen this so many times in news media and social media. Knowing God’s will in the matter is truth and paramount to know how we are to act accordingly. If the circumstance is dire then are we to panic and throw out our faith? Absolutely not! I am not saying that there will not be a moment of feeling fear but in the face of it we are to turn our faith on to it. We know that satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy and we know his plans are to wipe the human race from the face of the earth and replace us with “his seed”.  We are told that we can know his intentions in situations facing us in  2 Corinthians 2:11To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions. If satan can keep us in bondage to fear then he can stop the power of God within us to arrest him. He can stop us from releasing our faith and releasing the Word of God into the world around us or over the situation. He can stop us from using our authority against him. He can isolate us and keep our mouths shut. For the past year, he has been actively trying to accomplish this. He will not stop until we stop him by overcoming him by the Blood of the Lamb and WORD of our testimony. The enemy has no defense against the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of God. He has no defense against using our faith and authority.
Spending time with the Lord strengthens our faith in Him. Spending time in His written Word and listening to His Rhema Word builds us up and hones our warfare skills. Receiving the LOVE of the Lord and refusing to fear gives us the confidence to resist the enemy and make him flee.
